Hyams, William (1878-1952)

Hyams was a landscape painter; he was born in Portsmouth and spent his childhood in Guernsey. He studied at Brighton School of Art and spent some years at sea which gave him the opportunity to paint marine subjects. He exhibited at the RA and the RI, in the provinces and abroad and is represented in Brighton and Hove Art Galleries. He painted many Sussex scenes and was Chairman of Brighton Arts Club in 1947. His home address is listed as 115 Queen's Park Road, Brighton, Sussex.
