Marie-Joseph-Leon-Clavel took the surname “I Will” to represent his will and effort as an artist. He exhibited in many salons, including the Universal Exposition, the Society of French Artists. He received many awards and medals for his works. He won “Chevalier de la Legion d’Honneur” in 1894.
