Set of (4) finely detailed watercolour-drawings on white paper – ‘Daler-board’. Pencil and watercolour with ink, grey wash, and white highlights: Letraset (lettering) has been added to No.2. Each watercolour has been mounted separately with grey coloured mount board.

Description

Very little is known about the artist and unfortunately, we have been unable to identify the book in which these drawings were illustrated, it may have been that the project was never fully realized, however, the incredible works of John W. Wood live on with many other publications that he illustrated, mostly from the 60s and 70s. Titles include; Inside Underground Railways. Published by Ian Allan, 1964: Civil Airliners Since 1946: The Pocket Encyclopaedia of World Aircraft in Colour. Blandford Press, London UK, 1967: Racing cars and record breakers, 1898-1921. Published by New York: Macmillan, 1971. Passenger cars, 1913-23. Published by New York: Macmillan, 1972.

A Gallery label will accompany each drawing listing the name of the artist and the title of the work. The drawings will be posted in protective clear polyester wrapping commonly used by paper conservators.
