Tyck, Edward (1847-c.1922)

The Belgian Edward Tyck painted historical and religious scenes, but is best known for his cityscapes of Antwerp and genre paintings in impressionist style. In particular, these latter works reveal a keen sense of observation. Tyck also painted landscapes and woodland scenes. He was born in 1847 in Antwerp and lived and worked all his life in this city.
