British School, (circa 1900) Rear View Study of a Large Country House

Out of stock

Painted on a large piece of thick layered board the picture has been presented in a beautiful gilded and glazed ‘Watt’s’ frame – of the period. Both the picture and the frame are in excellent condition.

Description

Despite the absence of a signature, this oil painting has undoubtedly been painted by an accomplished artist. The property looks to have been built in the Arts and Crafts period – late 19th century or early 1900s. The scene is slightly unconventional for a commissioned portrait so it would seem quite likely that the house belonged to the artist or maybe a friend of the artist.
