British School (c.1810-15) – Pair of Portraits

1 in stock

A wonderful pair of portraits depicting two lady’s from the same family. There are no visible inscriptions to help identify either the artist or the sitters, that may be mother and daughter or possibly two sisters.

Both watercolours have been laid onto blue paper with embossed border decoration, stamped by the manufacturer “DOBBS”. The figures have been sensitively drawn in pencil and finished with watercolour and body colour and touches of gum arabic.

Both paintings have been newly mounted and housed in good quality gilt-wood frames.

Each watercolour: 8 x 6 1/8 in. (15.5 x 20.5 cm.)
Each frame: 17 x 14 3/4 in. (43.2 x 37.2 cm.)
