Description
There are some labels on the back of the picture, including one with a date of 1959. The name of a previous owner ‘Mrs Michael Field’ is on a separate label. There is considerable ware on the painting and a puncture just above the head of a figure in the lower left corner. Despite this old damage the painting is very intricate and pleasing to look at. The date 1959 could have been when the picture was re-lined onto silk and framed.
