Description
The rich colouring and attention to detail is reminiscent of the work of John Brett, (1831-1902) a landscape and coastal painter associated with the Pre-Raphaelite movement. In the 1870s and 1880s, he painted scenes of Cornwall, the Channel Islands, the Isle of Wight, and most notably the coastline of Wales. However the monogram does not appear to be close to his initials. One possible candidate might be the marine artist Henry Moore, (1831-1895), although I find it doubtful, the second initial looks to be a W.
