Description

Sybil Irene Webbe was born late in 1895 to the famous cricketer Alexander Josiah Webbe (1855-1941) and Peroline Maud Webbe (nee Cutler). She died in 1960. Sybil married Adrian Gordon Paterson in 1919 and in 1928 they had a daughter, Camilla. In 1951 Camilla Haldane Paterson married Thomas Odling of Paxford House near Chipping Campden, Gloucestershire. Thomas later re-married to Hilary Katherine Palgrave-Ker. Hilary died in 2019, seventeen years after her husband.

In 2020, the contents of Paxford House were sold in two separate auctions, one of which included this portrait.
