Signed and dated Ch. Ward 05 (bottom right). Coloured chalks on tinted Ingres paper. Framed and glazed. Provenance: From the studio of the artist John Sergeant (1937-2010).

 

Description

The drawing ‘Books and Papers’ was proudly displayed in the Sergeant’s living room, when asked about the drawing John explained that it was not he but Charlotte Ward who drew the picture, he then went on to say how talented he thought Charlotte had been as a student. John and Carolyn had been close friends of John Ward and his family.
