|Frame or Mount|
Oil on canvas. Signed and dated – A MacKinnon 1879 (lower left). A paper label attached to the back of the frame reads – Neil M’Leod carver and gilder 126 Woodlands Road Glasgow. A second hand written label has been obscured by another label showing the title for the painting ‘Highland Washing at Kintyre’. The regional letters displayed on the fishing vessels are CN = Campbeltown, GK = Greenock. Further research on the numbers before the letters should help to identify the owners of the vessels. The name, Tom 1873 and the initials P.C. are painted on the Pier wall (between the steps and children).
